Entry Level Certification – PADI Open Water Diver Course
Learn the proper skills, equipment use, and safety procedures needed to safely enjoy scuba diving. Take the course once and enjoy diving for the rest of your life!
The course consists of:
Knowledge Development
The knowledge modules may be done in our classroom, or online with PADI elearning, if you'd like the flexibility of completing the class work from home.
Water skills development
We use the pool at St. Joseph’s University, the Kaiserman JCC or the Phoenixville YMCA. If you choose private lessons, we can also come to your pool.
4 Open Water Dives
You may complete the 4 dives with us at Dutch Springs in Bethelehem, PA (from May to October). Open water dives generally begin at 8am on Saturday. Please allow yourself time to stand in line before entering. We recommend arriving around 7:30am.
Or, do your dives on any of our scheduled group trips, or on your own vacation.
You can complete the knowledge and water skills development in just 1 weekend!
Aqua Hut Student Shoots Afternoon at Dutch Springs:
Will there be homework? Yes, but only a little. Before our class sessions we ask that you view the DVD & read the manual. Complete the knowledge review at the end of each chapter & bring it to class. Do I have to be a strong swimmer? You should be at ease in the water and in general good health. There will be an evaluation of swimming skills at the first pool session.
What about medical issues? You must complete a medical statement and, if necessary, obtain a physician’s approval before participation in the course. The form can be found here as a PDF.
Are there age restrictions? Children as young as 10 may participate after consultation with our instructional staff
